Base dictionary data and original context lessons are kept as separate layers so learners can see what is sourced and what is project-authored.
Dictionary layer
Production deployments are designed to import CC-CEDICT, an open Chinese-English dictionary. The project preserves source and license metadata in the database and shows attribution on affected word pages.

Context lessons
Deep explanations, usage notes, and example dialogues shipped with this project are original project content. They are not copied from another learning website.
AI decoder
AI decoding only runs when a visitor submits text. The server sends that text to the AI provider configured by the site operator. API keys stay server-side.
